This is my first bass ever. I wanted something that was inexpensive, but not cheap! Well, I have to say that the bass is actually pretty good. Straight neck, excellent frets, no blems, good tone (although the tone knob is a tiny scratchy). The bass feels good, kind of light, but not too light. It's actually much darker than pictured. I thought it was black when I opened the box! Here's something weird: the neck pup's volume actually decreases slightly when it's turned all the way up! If I back off a tiny bit, it increases. The sound is fantastic and while I do get a bit of fret buzz it doesn't come through the amp so it's all good. The DVD was really blech and I found it more useful to just learn from the internet than from the DVD. The amp was great, not the loudest thing in the world but I only intended to use it for practice anyway so it fit my needs to a tee. My only complaint at all is that the case that it came with was very VERY flimsy. One of the sides tore and the zipper broke within 2 weeks so investing in a nice padded gig bag will be worth looking into. All in all an excellent instrument and a worthwhile buy for anyone looking for an inexpensive Bass, had mine for 2 months and it's still going strong! |
