This complete package includes everything you need: an excellent bass; a portable amp that delivers big sound; an instructional DVD that will get the player up and playing right away; a bag to protect your bass when you are not playing; a 10' cable to connect your bass to the amp; and a strap which makes playing while standing up a breeze! This is the perfect bass for the young beginner, or an adult who is looking for a lighter, more agile bass that is easier to handle. The dual cutaway shaped body allows access to the highest frets, and the contoured body makes it comfortable to play for hours. The solid alder wood provides a superior, authentic vintage sound. (Many basses in this price range that are sold by other vendors often contain plywood.) Bolt-on maple neck adds stability and is built with a truss rod. (A truss rod is an adjustable neck reinforcement designed to resist the forward bending force of the high tension of steel strings, and is found in the finest of electric basses.) Ultra fast rosewood fretboard with 21 jumbo frets. Split P-Bass type passive pickup offers a full sound. Amp is great, provides 15 watts of power, and has a headphone jack which keeps the household sane as you can practice silently. Overall length of bass is 42". Width at its widest point is 12 1/2". Width of the neck at the nut is 1 1/2", and at the 21st fret it is 2 7/16". Scale length is 30". String spacing at the bridge is 2". Enjoy!

I wanted something that was inexpensive, but not cheap! Well, I have to say that the bass is actually pretty good. Straight neck, excellent frets, no blems, good tone (although the tone knob is a tiny scratchy). The bass feels good, kind of light, but not too light. It's actually much darker than pictured. I thought it was black when I opened the box! Here's something weird: the neck pup's volume actually decreases slightly when it's turned all the way up! If I back off a tiny bit, it increases. No biggie. It really does sound good. I'm happy with the bass (especially since I put some Hartke medium gauge strings on it). Definitely worth more than the kit's price. Now for the amp: the volume is not bad at all (for practicing alone). It has pretty good tone. The only problem is FEEDBACK. TONS of it. If I take my strumming hand off the bass, I get... This review is from: Silvertone Crusher Electric Bass Pack, Cobalt Blue (Electronics) At $100 I wasn't expecting much from this Bass and was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a really nice instrument overall. The sound is fantastic and while I do get a bit of fret buzz it doesn't come through the amp so it's all good. The DVD was really blech and I found it more useful to just learn from the internet than from the DVD. The amp was great, not the loudest thing in the world but I only intended to use it for practice anyway so it fit my needs to a tee. My only complaint at all is that the case that it came with was very VERY flimsy. One of the sides tore and the zipper broke within 2 weeks so investing in a nice padded gig bag will be worth looking into. All in all an excellent instrument and a worthwhile buy for anyone looking for an inexpensive Bass, had mine for 2 months and it's still going strong! 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful DONT BUY!, January 25, 2012 By  Disastisfied - See all my reviews This review is from: Ursa 1 JR RN PK PBU Blue Bass Guitar Package w/Free Amp Carry Bag, Strap and DVD THIS bass is so horrible, the nut is cut wrong!, if you dont know what that means, thats fine, but it is extremely important on most string instruments to have a nut, the thing at the end of the fret board to be cut properly, on this piece of crap its cut too high, and all of the strings buzz, unless you play them at like the 20th fret, if you buy this, you'll end up paying twice as much for a nut repair like me, please, if you want a good bass, buy it in person, or from something with a good review, i've learned my lesson, this had no reviews, well now i know, THIS BASS SUX!
